🎣 Bluegill Bash 2026: A Summer Tradition Continues at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park

Every summer, families, friends, and fishing fans from all across Greenup County gather at one of our most beloved places, Greenbo Lake State Resort Park! The Bluegill Bash, returning on August 1, 2026, is more than a fishing event. It’s a celebration of community, outdoor fun, and the simple joy of spending a day by the water.

The free event is open to kids age 17 and under, offering a morning of friendly competition, outdoor adventure, and community spirit. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., followed by fishing from 9 a.m. to noon, and weigh-in from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or someone who just loves being near the water, the Bluegill Bash is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all. Bring your fishing gear, your lawn chairs, your sunscreen, and your favorite people. The lake will be stocked, the atmosphere will be lively, and the memories will be waiting.

Prizes will be awarded in three age categories (6 and under, 7 to 12, and 13 to 17) for the most weight caught from a boat and most weight from the bank.
